Misc. Text: Yakiniku Personality Test

Yakiniku Meal Set - 焼肉定食
Original Article here.

Who would have thought the way you eat your meal set could tell you so much about your love life?

Yep. All that food on that platter reveals your deepest darkest secrets about how your strategies for locking on and capturing your romantic target.

After you read this, tell us what dish you ate first and how accurate you think this is (no cheating!), and then tell us what dish you think your favorite Jrocker celeb would eat first.

For example, in regards to Alice 9, Nao might be a miso soup, Saga with a salad, Shou with his pickles, Hiroto as a yakiniku and Tora may be a rice. Of course, there can be more than one person per food. (I just completely made up that lineup.)

Confused yet? Well, you'll just have to keep reading to find out what exactly we mean.

It's time for lunch and your stomach is growling.
You find a place to eat and order a "yakiniku meal set".
What is the first thing you eat once your meal set has arrived?

Miso
Salad
Oshinko
Yakiniku
Rice
Get to your answer by
clicking the picture!

This personality test shows what kind of techniques and strategies you would use in the game of love.

A. Miso Soup

If you start with a sip of miso soup, it means you are a natural when it comes to the game of love. You are satisfied no matter what kind of love it is. Occasionally you behave like a spoiled child and intentionally treat your partner coldly. However, all of those add to your charm, and your person of interest will be instantly captivated by you.

B. Salad

You are a person that takes loves seriously, but at the same time you are also poor at making strategies in the game of love. Although you may be bold and straightforward when having fun or making decisions...in front of the person you like, you become awkward and nervous. While you want to express your feelings, no matter how much you want to, you are unable to express them.

C. Oshinko (Pickled Vegetables)

If you treat yourself by starting off with pickled vegetables, you are the type to plan things out.
As opposed to behaving aggressively, you enjoy planning out your tactics carefully. Due to this characteristic, things will be steady and smooth, but it can also spoil things when your careful planning is discovered.

D. Yakiniku

Digging into the entree right away, you are the type that has no particular strategy in the game of love. When you like someone you charge ahead like a daredevil. That type of attack power you have will surely make the person you are interested in fall madly in love with you.

E. Rice

By starting your meal with rice you are the type that is poor at formulating a strategy. Even though you are interested, it's an unrequited love and often you tend to dwell on those feelings. The shortest path to love may simply be to find someone who already loves this clumsier side of you.

Well, were you what you expected? Mine was actually quite accurate, which surprised me to some extent, haha. We got salad and oshinko (pickles), and if you can guess who got what, extra MICHIDO points to you! At any rate, even if you don't believe in quizzes like these, we hope you enjoyed the pictures, which we also enjoyed looking up a lot~

And don't forget to tell us what dish you ate first and how accurate you think this is, and then tell us what dish you think your favorite Jrocker celeb would eat first.

If you love finding out about yourself via your methods of chomping down on meat, or you just like looking at pictures we get from Flickr, then don't forget to follow MICHIDO on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.

Live Event: 2nd ScReW Q&A at Brand X, Tokyo (2010), Part II

Ok~! This is the last part of the Brand X in-store event from before! This one's quite interesting since it's got quite a few personality quizzes embedded inside, and Byou had some verryyyy interesting reactions and answers to them. To give you a little hint--the way Byou chases after taxis he wants to ride tells you a lot about how he goes after girls he's interested in. He might even be considered a stalker by some standards and have to get reported to the police!

Yeah right, like any of you would have a problem being stalked by Byou. I think he'd have to put restraining order on the people wanting to be stalked by him instead...

At any rate, enjoy this last Brand X event. If you missed the previous one, come and find it here. And of course don't forget to leave your comments down below about how you'd answer the personality quizzes and whose taxi you would want to ride in. *wink*

PART 2
Q.3 How much of an age gap are you ok with?

Yada: Screw's representative, Mr. Manabu~ please give us your answer.

Manabu: Umm......Well then, from 5 years old to around 40 years old?

Kazuki: Yada, didn't you have a wise saying just now? (laughs) Could you repeat it one more time? (laughs)

Yada: Ah?...Oh that? “From the cradle to the grave.”

Kazuki: Thaaannkkk yoouuu (laughs)

Q.4 What's a good way to diet?

Byou didn't answer.

Manabu: I started swimming yesterday,

Kazuki: I eat the instant meat and potato stew from 7-11.

Yada: But doesn't that make you fat?

Kazuki: Ahhh...yeah I guess (laughs)

Yada: Do you eat only that?

Kazuki: Yup

Rui: I saw this on TV, a girl's boyfriend kept saying, “You're fat” to her everyday and she started to realize it and was able to successfully slim down.

Yada: That's a super masochistic diet.

Rui: Yeah

Jin: Maybe sweat a lot during lives?

Q.5 Quiz (From the fans)

You're building a new house. Of the following which are you most concerned about?
Choose from one of the following: game room, living room, bathroom, walls and roof.  (Before you read on, decide and tell us what YOU picked in the comments below!)

...

Screw's individual answers:

Byou: Roof

Rui: Living room

Kazuki, Manabu & Jin: Game room

Your responses will tell how your marriage will turn out to be.
If you chose bathroom: there will be unfaithfulness in the marriage.

Yada: Everyone is safe (laughs)
If you chose living room: You will be the master of the household, and if you are a girl, queen of the household.

Rui: Ahh... I can see myself like that (laughs)

If you chose roof or outer structures: You will be the main provider of the household

Byou: What?! No way...impossible.

Kazuki: Don't worry, you can definitely do it.

Byou: Immmpppposssible!

Kazuki: Don't worry! Have faith in yourself!

Byou: But, I have to do everything right?

Yada: Not necessarily

Byou: ...okay I feel like I can now (laughs)

If you chose a game room: You're going to abandon housework and child rearing.

Kazuki, Manabu & Jin: (laughs)

Manabu: But...but that's because we're concentrating on work. (laughs)

Kazuki: Yeah! (laughs)

Yada: How about you, Jin, are you going to avoid housework and taking care of the kids?

Jin: (laughs) Ah well...I think I can do it (laughs)

Q.6 Quiz II (From Yada)

You are waiting for a taxi. There is a taxi approaching you, the driver looks your way but doesn't stop. He drives right past you! How do you react?

Byou: That happened to me the other day (laughs)

Jin: I'd think, “Aaaah” and the next moment I'll just go to another taxi stop.

Rui: I'll be, “Hmph!” There's going to be another taxi coming so I'll get on that one. “There are going to be lots of taxis coming by anyways!”

Yada: Like, "This isn't the only taxi!" eh.

Rui: (laughs)

Manabu: It's, “Ah, oh well, nothing I can do about it.” and I'll walk home.

Kazuki: It's because I'm not good looking so there isn't anything I can do about it

Yada: Are you saying it's your own fault?

Kazuki: (laughs)

Byou: I'll look up the taxi number and call them and say, “Hey you! This is the second time!”

This is how you will react to a breakup with your girlfriend/ boyfriend.

Everyone's reaction is pretty bad (laughs)

Yada: Jin, when your girlfriend breaks up with you your reaction is “Aaaah” and the next moment you look for another girl. (laughs)

Jin: (laughs)

Yada: Rui too! You're “Hmph!” but another girl will appear before you right away!

Rui: (laughs)

Yada: For Manabu, you say “There's nothing I can do about it,” and move on! You can do it!!

Manabu: (laughs)

Yada: For Kazuki, you blame it all on yourself!!

Kazuki: (laughs)

Yada: However, Byou is the one with the best reaction!! (laughs)

Byou: I call her house! (laughs)

Yada: And you say “Hey you! This is the second time!” (laughs)

Byou: (laughs)

Yada: And Manabu, do your best!

And that is it! What did everyone think? I thought the quizzes were pretty interesting. How would you answer them? We would love to know your answers! So please share them with us in the comment section below! And of course, the best question is, Whose taxi would you want to ride in? It doesn't have to be one of the boys from ScReW! Any other person is fine too!

Also, if you love chasing after runaway taxis, then don't forget to subscribe to MICHIDO on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr.

See you all next time!

Misc. Text: Goo News - Matching Couple Items

Hi all! We've got something a bit different from our regular stuff this time, but this one's fun too! It's about what women in Japan like to use as a matching couple item with their boyfriends.

As you read this, think about what you would want as a matching couple item. If it isn't from the list, that's fine too! Let us know what it is! The second question is WHO you would want to share the item with. The man or woman of your dreams with your choice of a matching couple item! Leave us a comment below!

Meanwhile, I won't hold you up any longer--on to the real article!

---
「Straps」are the most popular! A working girl's ranking of the most desirable「Matching couples' item that you want your boyfriend to carry」
Originally published by escala cafe on 7/21/2011 (Thursday) 11:00

Girls always want the person they like to confirm their love for each other. Matching items that fulfill those thoughts are especially popular amongst lovers. This time we surveyed working young women about「Matching couples' item that you want your boyfriend to carry」 ! When it comes to the most popular "couple item", what is most popular amongst the working ladies?

●1st Place/「Strap」……56.6%

○2nd Place/「Mugs」……30.4%

●3rd Place/「Keychain」……20.9%

○4th Place/「Cellphone」……14.2%

●5th Place/「Commuter Pass Case」……5.4%

○6th Place/「Wallet」……5.1%

●7th Place/「Sneakers」……4.8%

○8th Place/「Music Player」……4.1%

●9th Place/「Rings」……3.5%

○10th Place/「Clothing」……2.5%

※ Note ・Rankings below 11th place were omitted.

56.6% went with the 1st place item,「Strap」! A strap that you can have on you while walking is perfect for reaffirming your love! This isn't only for cellphone straps. Many couples that are working in the office have also been using lanyard straps.

Ranking 2nd place was 30.4% with「Mugs」. Sharing a couples mug with the person you love is also a splendid idea. When you use the mug during your tea break at work, you can continue to work hard with the power of love.

And then, at 3rd place with 20.9% was「Keychain」. Since it isn't something that is constantly seen by others, you can enjoy the secret thrills of being an item. If you attach each others' keys to the matching keychains it's very romantic.

We introduced a lot of items in this time's ranking. I, as expected, would like to use a「Ring」as my matching item. It's a little cliched, but this would make me happiest. What would you want your「Matching couples' item」to be? (Editorial/Etou)

※『escala cafe』conducted a Web survey in June 2011. The valid sample size included 316 responses (escala cafe employees:Working women aged 22 years old-34 years old)

---
Well, that was short! Hope you enjoyed it! I agree with the editor though. I would want a ring to signify a relationship. If you don't want to wear it as a ring, you can still wear it as a necklace too, and that would still be pretty convenient! The thing I'm not so hung up on are clothes and sneakers. Wouldn't it be weird if you and your significant other walked out the door wearing the same things? It'd be more like the two of you being twins than a couple. Imagine if you were dressed in lolita, and your Aki from Sadie was wearing a matching outfit. (You can click on the picture for a bigger version. Original photo was from skl8em.)

Anyways, don't forget to answer our questions about what you would want as a matching couple item and WHO you would want to share the item with. Shower us with comments please! We love them!

If you like the items that you saw in our header, you can find them for purchase here.

And if you find yourself wanting to share a matching item with MICHIDO, which you love oh so much, then don't forget to give us a common matching item--a follow on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr!

Hello earthlings, we space aliens come in peace and bring you another G-MEN X report

(▼ー▼)/ヽ(・∀・)ノ\(▼ー▼)バンザイ宇宙人!

No, we're just kidding. We're not space aliens, although I would like to be one (just not green). Anyways, I hope you are excited for another the Gazette investigation series! This time it's Uruha's turn. Can't wait to find out what the other members have to say about him? Keep reading to find out!

Takuya's From the Milky Way : Space G-MEN X, the GazettE Special
HOST:TAKUYA
GUEST: the GazettE
BROADCAST TIME:October 8th, 2009 (24:00-25:00)

========================START============================

Takuya: And now moving on with the investigation—Uruha! Everyone says, “Uruha, you don't hold back on the alcohol!”

Aoi: Ohhh this~I want to say one thing! Just one thing!!!

the Gazette: Ahahaha

~Aoi suddenly says...

Aoi: Ah~ah..sorry! But really~Uruha and alcohol... Like when we're heading home, he'll pinch the back of my neck...

Ruki: He's a really bad drunk and stays drunk for a pretty long time. When he starts with tequila it's all over.

Takuya: But he's reflected on it and even wrote that he wants to change that.

Aoi: Well, he can say whatever he wants, right!

the Gazette: Ahahaha

Takuya: Oh hooo, Aoi seems to be in his element! Welcome back! (laughs)

☆He's does things slowly at his own pace.

Takuya: Just now I was in the restroom and Uruha was there too, and there's the hand dryer, right? He was standing there for a loooooong time.

Aoi: Are you sure it wasn't a sprite?

Ruki: This is baaaad (laughs)

the Gazette: Ahahaha

Takuya: While everyone says his “my pace-ness” is a good thing--Ruki, you, on the other hand, want him to change that?

Ruki: His my pace-ness is...well my pace... But what's unbelieveable about him is, we're talking like this, right? He starts listening after the conversation has ended. (laughs) Like it just ended and he says, “Ah...really?” and we say, “Dude, the conversation just ended.”

(Uruha says from outside): Huh? What, what, what?? (laughs)

the Gazette: Ahahahaha!!

Ruki: He's seriously always been like this! It's always like, “We just talked about it!” (laughs)

Aoi: It's because we just saw a sprite.
the Gazette: Ahahahaha

Takuya: Reita, earlier you said the good point about Aoi was him treating you,right...

Reita: Yup

Takuya: And...you say the good thing about Uruha is he bought you a keyboard.

the Gazette: Ahahahaha!!

Takuya: He bought you something!? (laughs)

Reita: I'm so sorry! I'm judging people with material goods (laughs) I'm immature, okay. Sorry!

Takuya: Also, when you were renewing your driver's license, he drove you around.

Reita: Our birthdays are close so we went to renew it together. It was like “Hey, you're gonna drive”...and I was next door.

Ruki: Man, you suck (laughs)

the Gazette: Ahahaha!

Reita: No, we've known each other for a long time--for 18 years--and there are a lot little things that I can't say on radio so I decided to say this.

Takuya: Is that...ok? (laughs)

Uruha's personal report

☆He loves guitar

Ruki: Aaah

☆He loves home appliances

Ruki: Uhum
☆He loves games.

Takuya: And that's what he says. Everyone seems to play Dragon Quest, right~

Reita: Yes! Just us (everyone except Ruki) when we're talking about games, Ruki, he's just...

Kai: Fufufufu

Takuya: Huh?! Ruki, you don't play games?

Ruki: I'm the “I don't game” type.

Reita: The 4 of us play games, it's only Ruki who doesn't.

Kai: When we're talking about games, we start getting onto the topic, but then we have to think about it and stop talking about it.

Reita: Yeah.

the Gazette: Ahahaha

Aoi: Can't you just go with the flow?

Takuya: Ahh, that's no good huh? Sorry that was a bad move, sorry! Alright so from now on no talk about games. Definitely won't!

the Gazette: Ahahaha!

Ruki: It's like you're blaming me of something.

Reita: No no no no

Takuya: Moving on, Uruha says he is an honest guy.

Aoi: Fuuu, that's not true. (laughs)

Takuya: Really? That just got shot down. Next, he's a health freak.
Aoi: He doesn't really have any good traits. He sees exercising as too much work, and he's always like, “I'll do something else." Like, he's got a small personality.

Takuya: That's the summary of our findings...I wonder if that's going to be alright? (laughs) Well, he's a my-pace sprite but is also an amazing person!

♪Bell chimes♪

Takuya: And now we're going to insert a song, after that it's Reita's turn~

Reita: Uwwaaaaa...scarrry!

Takuya: Yes, and with that said, Uruha, welcome back!

Mail

When is Uruha like a sprite?

the Gazette: (chuckles) + (laughs)

Uruha: Whaaaaaaat~ (laughs)

the Gazette: Ahahahahaha

Takuya: Aoi said it!

Aoi: Yup yup yup

Uruha: I see where you're going with this!

Aoi: Eeh?!

Takuya: Ooh, revenge in full force, isn't it (laughs) The next person is going to have it tough~

(There are some talks about their new single “Before I Decay” and live information)

==============================TBC===========================

Was that...exciting? Sure hope it was!

We thoroughly enjoyed Aoi's come backs, Reita's immaturity and Ruki's, “Are you trying to blame me?!” attitude. Casual conversations like these are always so much fun (●´艸`)

And now for the questions of the day!

First one, what do you like or not like about Uruha, and since the next victim is Reita we want to know what you guys like or dislike about him. Guess what the other members say, and don't hold back! As usual leave us your answers & thoughts in the comment section below.

P.S. Don't forget to follow/like us on Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr. We scatter goodies all over the place and you guys don't want to miss out!

Live Event: J-pop Summit Festival 2011

It's been a bit quiet on the blog this week, but I promise it was for a good reason!

Last weekend (Aug. 27-28) was the annual J-pop Summit Festival in San Francisco. Since I live close by, I figured I'd hop on a train and take the ride up to check it out. After getting in touch with the Summit organizers, I also managed to get a press pass, which meant entry into shows that otherwise meant I'd have to pay for (h.Naoto fashion show, anyone?).

All in all, it was a pretty fun festival. This is the 3rd annual Summit, so I wasn't too worried about how fun it might not be since the festival obviously was popular enough to continue on for 3 years.

I got there early on Saturday morning with my brother at around 9am, and even though it was early, Japantown was already bustling with plenty of people setting up their booths and the Summit organizers running around and speaking into their walkie-talkies in a mix of Japanese and English.

After staffing at AM2, I'll just say that I was pretty happy to experience the fest as a press pass holder instead of a staffer. It's nice to relax once in a while, even if AM2 was awesome, y'know?
And by relax, I meant explore the food trucks. In case you didn't know, to be a part of Michido, you kinda have to love food. Like, really love it. Love it to the point you dream about buffets. So it made plenty of sense for me to make a beeline for the food trucks (which I had researched thoroughly, by the way) and ponder the options.
I'd have to say that my favorite (but most pricey (;´Д`) ) food was from the Brass Knuckles food truck. We got the Snoop Dog, which was actually not worth $7, in my opinion, but still pretty delicious. For those of you who knows of the infamous Vancouverian Japa-dog, this was probably the closest you'll get down here in San Francisco.

While stuffing my fat face eating my food, I also went around to the other stalls to get a look at other attractions. One of the major draws was the fortune telling booth, hosted by diviner Hoshi and Juno. I felt a bit shy about asking for a photo (because he was pretty good looking in person, haha), but he was happy to give it to me. The booth was pretty popular, and as I passed by it both days, there were people who were constantly going to find out what they could learn about themselves from Hoshi.

One of the other awesome things to see was Hechi-ken Hamazaki's "you aRE goD" tea ceremony. To those of you who don't really know about this (I didn't), I'll explain it in a way to make it easy for you.

Take the Blueman group. Switch the blue makeup for white. Wear bright red clothes. Set up a tea ceremony. Voila, you have "you aRE goD".

And what made this exhibit even better than any other tea ceremony I've ever been in was--yes, you probably didn't guess it--a lolita. I don't think you get the chance to see things like this very often, even if it was in Japan.
At some point, I wandered over to the New People building, where there were plenty of other fun things going on. Nico Nico was doing a live broadcast when I stopped by, and there were also free tshirts (more news on this later! Stay tuned!). The Nico Nico guys were quite a cute bunch, and after chatting with them, I headed up to the third floor for the h.Naoto fashion show.
This was my first time attending and shooting a fashion show, so now my admiration for fashion photographers skyrocketed after this. Even though there were awesome outfits, it was hard to take a clear picture. At the fashion show, h.Naoto introduced his outfits and explained the inspirations behind each outfit. For those who couldn't see the fashion show, there was also a fashion contest the next day with h. Naoto and wonderful Cynthia Anderson (of Style Wylde fame). I got a chance to chat with Cynthia before the fashion show and came to the conclusion that fashion bloggers = incredible. Hope to see her again someday!

h.Naoto also had a pop up shop that was only open for that weekend. When it closed, fans would have to wait until October to get a chance to start purchasing his goods for real at the official h.Naoto store in the New People.

Other events included a fashion show by Sou・Sou featuring traditional and modern Japanese fashion fusion as well as screenings of various animes and movies (Gantz!!! Which I missed...). The Vocaloid themed activities also got a lot of attention along with the air band concert performed by K-On's voice actresses. One of my personal favorites was watching the Jazz musician, Emi Meyer, perform on stage.

For those of you who didn't get to attend this year, I'd definitely check it out next year! The food is good, the attractions are great, and the people are nice--all the factors to a great festival. And, to my surprise, there were a lot of awesome cosplayers--one of whom was my high school classmate!!

All-in-all, thanks Japantown and J-pop Summit Festival organizers! I had a great first year with you all, and I'm hoping you'll be back for 2012!

Meanwhile, how was your experience if you attended the J-pop Summit Festival? Tell us in the comments! And did you cosplay? If you did, show us pictures, please!
There will be more photos on our Facebook, and of course don't forget to check out our Twitter and Tumblr for other secret goodies!

Another thing to keep an eye out is for free tshirts............but that's news for another time! If you want to make sure you get the news, be sure to follow all of our channels!
